Mom's Cinnamon Peach Cobbler

My mom has been making this Peach Cobbler my whole life and I am SO THANKFUL that she shared it with me years ago and now it is one of my family’s favorite summer desserts. The topping is light and crispy, not cakey which is how we love it. We top it with fresh whipping cream straight from the carton, however, you can also make whipped cream OR feel free to top with vanilla ice cream as my daughter Bella loves to do.

I hope you'll enjoy this quintessential summer favorite as much as we do.

Ingredients:

5 cups peeled, sliced peaches

1 ½ Tablespoons lemon juice

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

½ teaspoon salt

1 egg beaten

6 Tablespoons melted butter

Ground cinnamon for serving

If making whipped cream: 1 ½ cups whipping cream and 2 ½ Tablespoons of sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form with a hand-held mixer.

Directions:

  • Sprinkle the peaches with lemon juice and mix to coat the peaches.

  • Pour into an 11 x 6 pan or 8-inch square baking dish, or pie plate.

  • In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.

  • Add the beaten egg with a fork and mix until the mixture is crumbly.

  • Spread the crumble mixture evenly over the peaches.

  • Drizzle the melted butter over the crumble mixture.

  • Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbling.

  • Serve warm with whipping cream, whipped cream, ice cream and sprinkle generously with cinnamon.

The original recipe handwritten by my mom.
